Selena Quintanilla Perez (born Selena Quintanilla Quitanilla Perez) was an American musician. She was a very accomplished singer, whose music was a Texan beat. She was a born the 16th of April, 1971 in Lake Jackson Texas. She was a singer in Spanish despite being American and spoke English as her mother tongue. Selena was born into a family that was happy, loving and with Hispanic heritage. Her father, Abraham Quintanilla, was also a musician. However, the music he played did not get as much recognition as his daughter. The family of Selena took every step to help her develop and use her talents when they realized how gifted she was. Selena began to perform in her father's restaurants together with her brothers when her family discovered her talent.
