Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Early Broadway parts included Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of the majority of her career collaborating with acclaimed directors and actors across the stage, film and TV and she will continue that work with several upcoming projects. Ashford is scheduled to be starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently in the making of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford's Broadway return will take place in the month of March 2023, when he is paired with Josh Groban for the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford was Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's latest FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters into the first ever impeachment proceedings in America for over a century. She was also the lead in two seasons of CBS comedy B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not familiar with Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as well as Outer Critics Circle Awards in the role in the role of Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway credits. Ashford is a Denver resident who splits her time between Los Angeles.
