Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American performer, actress, and songwriter for many years. Her mother was her primary caregiver in the USA, where she faced many racial taunts that made her feel like an unwanted person. If she attended school contests and received great praise for her performance at the age of 9, the girl began to gain confidence. It not only boosted her confidence but also shifted her goals for the future. At the age of 22, she was able to graduate from at the Julliard School of New York. In 1993, she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. In the Broadway original production of Spamalot She played the role of Lady of The Lake and won both the Tony Award as well as critical praise. The following year, she appeared on the ABC show Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider recognition for it. Known as a singer she released her own single and an extended version of her play. She also works as an LGBT activist.
